Meet Analisa Barrett

I’m a financial strategist with more than twenty years of experience helping mission-driven organizations make sound, confident decisions. My work is rooted in practical modeling, clear communication, and a belief that financial clarity strengthens impact.

Before launching my consulting practice in 2021, I spent nearly 15 years at Teach For America, where I built and led the organization’s financial strategy and planning function. During a period of rapid growth and change, my team’s models, analysis, and partnership helped leaders plan responsibly, adapt to shifting conditions, and pursue ambitious goals with greater confidence. Later, I led projects to re-architect the organization’s internal economic model, designed and managed the enterprise budgeting process, and developed board-level reporting that supported stronger strategic decisions.

Today, I partner with nonprofit leaders, schools, foundations, and mission-driven companies to bring that same clarity to their own financial planning. Through project-based work and ongoing advising, I help teams understand what their numbers mean, build models they can use, and make decisions based on strategy rather than guesswork.

Earlier in my career, I worked as an analyst in the printing facilities at the Chicago Tribune and Newsday, where I learned to love operational detail, data modeling, and the unexpected stories numbers can reveal.

I live in Brooklyn with my husband, two school-aged sons, and our mischievous dog. I chair the board of the Brooklyn Book Bodega, a local literacy nonprofit, and spend my downtime baking, exploring outside, and trying new creative hobbies.
